Local charities benefit from Talbot grants
More than fifty charitable organisations across Bournemouth, Christchurch, Poole, Purbeck and East Dorset are set to benefit after Talbot Village Trust awarded four hundred thousand pounds in its latest funding round.
The grants will support a variety of projects aimed at strengthening community resilience and inclusion, with initiatives spanning health and social care, youth work, creative arts and wellbeing.
Julia’s House is among the recipients, receiving a significant contribution towards its Dorset hospice extension. The charity says the work will help it meet the changing needs of local children and their families. A spokesperson said the one hundred thousand pound grant will allow the hospice to create an annex space “designed so the whole family can stay together”.
Citizens Advice BCP has also been awarded funding to improve its technology. The organisation says its fourteen thousand nine hundred and thirty pound grant will enable it to modernise systems so staff and volunteers can focus more time on supporting people across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole.
Talbot Village Trust’s chairman said the awards highlight the dedication of local charities and their efforts to support communities during challenging times. He added that the trust aims to help organisations build sustainable futures.
New Small and Capital Grant Programmes have now opened for next year. Applications close on twenty five January for Small Grants and one February for Capital Grants, with full details available on the trust’s website.
