Flood alert issued for east Dorset coast
A flood alert has been issued for the east Dorset coast, with flooding possible from early this evening through to tomorrow morning.
The Environment Agency says high tides may affect locations around Bournemouth Beach, Hengistbury Head and Christchurch Harbour.
The period of greatest risk runs from 18:30 to 21:00 on 05 December, with the possibility of flooding up to two hours either side of these times.
A spokesperson said the situation is being monitored closely.
Forecast data shows high water levels at Preston Beach at 18:30 today and again at 07:00 tomorrow, with strong south westerly winds. High water at Swanage is expected at 21:00.
People are asked to avoid beaches and coastal promenades and consider using flood protection products.
