Renewed appeal after fatal Poole crash

Dorset Police are asking for more information surrounding a fatal crash near the Holes Bay North Roundabout in Poole on Friday, where a 17-year-old boy died after his motorcycle and a truck collided.

Officers are carrying out detailed enquiries and want to trace four drivers who were on the Upton Bypass immediately after the crash around 5pm.

They are particularly keen to hear from the drivers of a black BMW one series, white Vauxhall Astra, black Suzuki Swift and white Ford Transit van, or anyone with dashcam footage or doorbell footage.

Emergency services attended, but the seventeen-year-old boy from North Dorset was pronounced dead at the scene, while the truck driver was uninjured and HM Coroner has been notified.

Police Sergeant David Cotterill from the Roads Policing team said the young rider had very sadly died and offered condolences to the boy’s family and friends.

He added: “We would urge any witnesses, including these drivers, to contact us as soon as possible about what happened on the roundabout.”

Anyone with information or relevant dashcam footage is asked to contact Dorset Police online or by calling 101, quoting incident number 55250175506.

People can also contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously online using its website or by calling Freephone 0800 555 111 to pass on information anonymously.
