Teenage motorcyclist dies in Poole crash

A 17-year-old boy has died following a collision in Poole between a truck and a motorcycle near the Holes Bay Roundabout.

The incident happened at Safety Drive next to the fire station on Friday evening, 28th November.

Emergency services were called at around 5pm, but despite their efforts the boy from North Dorset was pronounced dead at the scene.

The collision involved a DAF truck and a silver motorcycle, and the truck driver was not injured, Dorset Police said.

Road closures remain in place at the roundabout while specialist collision investigators examine the scene and gather further evidence there.

Police Sergeant Richard Stroud, from the Roads Policing team, said: “Our thoughts are very much with his family, friends and loved ones at this extremely difficult time.”

Officers are carrying out enquiries to establish the full circumstances of the collision and are appealing for any witnesses to contact Dorset Police.

Investigators are particularly keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and may have captured relevant dashcam footage.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police online, via or by calling 101, quoting incident number 55250175506.
