Poole depot named best in the UK

Morebus’ Poole depot has been named the best in the country, after receiving a top honour at the UK Bus Awards.

Judges said the depot delivers consistently strong results for safety, reliability and customer service, and highlighted its full MOT pass rate and well-presented fleet.

The award recognises depots whose teams work closely together to maintain high operational standards. The Poole team was praised for its role at the centre of the community it serves.

Morebus managing director Ben Murray said the recognition reflects the efforts of colleagues across the depot. He said the success belongs to general manager Richard Wade and the wider team, adding that engineers, drivers, supervisors and those working behind the scenes all contribute to keeping services running well.

The company said it aims to build on this progress and continue to provide dependable bus services across the region.

Go South Coast, the parent company of Morebus, was also highly commended for its Women Like Us recruitment campaign, which encourages more women to become bus drivers and engineers.

The memory of former managing director Andrew Wickham MBE, who died in May this year, was marked at the ceremony with the Manager of the Year award named in his honour.

The UK Bus Awards were first established in 1996 to continue the work of the earlier Bus Good Practice Awards.
