Young carers ball raises vital support

More than two hundred guests gathered in Bournemouth as MYTIME Young Carers raised over forty seven thousand pounds at its annual fundraising ball, providing significant support for young carers across the UK.

The Roaring Twenties themed event at the Hilton Bournemouth brought together partners and supporters, local businesses and community figures for an evening focused on celebrating young carers and strengthening the charity’s work.

The evening included a sparkling reception, a three course meal and live music from Trip for Biscuits, along with a live and silent auction, a raffle and several games.

Guests also heard personal stories, including an opening musical performance by Lilly Mae, a young carer supported by the charity, and a speech from Bournemouth East MP Tom Hayes, who reflected on his own experiences and highlighted the importance of long term support for young carers.

Tim Sills, Head of Fundraising at MYTIME Young Carers, said it was heartwarming to welcome so many people and thanked supporters for helping deliver another successful event.

Funds raised will help the charity continue its programmes, including Operation Christmas, which provides gift bags for young carers across Dorset and the Isle of Wight.
