Woman injured after falling from A338 bridge
A woman is receiving treatment after falling from a bridge over the A338 Wessex Way in Bournemouth on Thursday afternoon.
Emergency services were called at 1.07pm following concern for her welfare, with police and ambulance crews attending and engaging with her at the scene.
Road closures between St Paul’s Roundabout and the Springbourne Roundabout were introduced so responders could work safely and manage the situation.
An update at around 3.35pm confirmed that the woman had fallen from the bridge.
She was treated by paramedics for injuries that are not thought to be life-changing or life-threatening and remained in the care of the ambulance service.
The A338 fully reopened at around 5.15pm once the emergency response had concluded and the road was safe to use again.
Long delayed were experienced by motorists throughout the afternoon, with heavy congestion reported around the area.
