Skydive supports Dorset children’s charity

A Haskins Garden Centre Ferndown team member has raised money for the centre’s charity of the year, Amelia’s Rainbow, by completing a skydive from fifteen thousand feet.

Hayley Pattison, who works as a Restaurant Assistant, took on the challenge to support the Dorset charity, which helps children with terminal, life-limiting, serious and chronic illnesses.

Hayley said the experience was both incredible and nerve-racking, adding that she felt proud to raise funds for a charity that supports children and families facing difficult circumstances. She said the encouragement she received from colleagues and customers helped her complete the challenge.

Amelia’s Rainbow currently supports one hundred and seventy families across Dorset and runs two holiday homes that provide free breaks for eighty families. Hayley’s fundraising will help the charity continue running these facilities and maintain its wider support services.

Colleagues at Haskins Ferndown also held a cake raffle to contribute to the fundraising effort. The cake was prepared by the centre’s chefs and decorated by a member of the Customer Service Desk team, with all proceeds going towards the final total.
