Twenty-four hour cycle for local charities
A Poole fitness studio owner is set to take on a full day of cycling to raise money for charity.
Jodie Anne will host a 24-hour indoor cycle from 6am on Sunday 14 December to 6am on Monday 15 December, raising funds for Diabetes UK and Forest Holme Hospice.
She said the challenge is deeply personal as her sister lives with Type 1 diabetes, facing daily struggles with pumps, insulin management and fluctuating blood sugars.
“This event means the world to me,” said Jodie. “Seeing what my sister goes through motivates me to do something positive — and Forest Holme Hospice is another cause very close to our hearts.”
It’s the second time the team has attempted a round-the-clock cycle, after raising more than £6,000 last year. The event will once again run through the day and night, with participants invited to take part for any duration — from ten minutes to the full 24 hours.
Local businesses are also being asked to donate raffle prizes, snacks and baked goods, while the public are encouraged to visit, cheer on the cyclists and contribute to the fundraising.
Jodie said it’s shaping up to be “an emotional and inspiring community event powered by strong women across Dorset.”
