Charity Christmas shop opens in Wimborne

A festive charity pop-up shop has opened in Wimborne Minster, offering residents the chance to shop with purpose this Christmas while supporting more than eighty charities.

Cards for Good Causes, the UK’s largest multi-charity Christmas card and gift retailer, has returned to the town with its seasonal store inside the historic Minster.

The shop sells charity Christmas cards, advent calendars, wrap, gifts and decorations, with all proceeds helping good causes across the country.

Over the past decade, the organisation has raised more than £20 million for national and local charities, supporting work in mental health, cancer research, children’s services, hospices and animal welfare. A further £2.5 million has been donated to community spaces including churches and libraries.

Chief Executive Christine Ansell said every purchase helps make a difference by supporting both the charities and the venues that host the pop-up shops. She added that shopping locally helps keep important community spaces alive.

The initiative also focuses on sustainability and inclusion, with UK-made and eco-friendly cards, ethically sourced gifts and accessible products such as Braille Christmas cards.
