Pavilion Dance marks fifteen years
Pavilion Dance South West is celebrating fifteen years since opening its Bournemouth venue on the seafront.
The organisation moved into the historic building on Westover Road in October 2010, when it was officially opened by HRH The Earl of Wessex following a major refurbishment. Since then, thousands of dancers, artists, and visitors have taken part in classes, performances, and community projects both at the venue and across the region.
Artistic Director and Joint CEO Victor Fung said the milestone highlights Pavilion Dance’s commitment to inclusion and creativity. He said the venue had become home to a wide range of dancing communities, from professional artists to local audiences, and that the organisation would continue its mission to transform communities through dance.
Over the past fifteen years, Pavilion Dance South West has produced and supported many events and festivals with funding from Arts Council England, BCP Council, and other partners, continuing to make a difference through the power of dance.
