Poole town patrols boost safety network
Poole now benefits from a coordinated network of professional security patrols, creating a stronger and more connected approach to safety in the town centre.
The initiative, driven by Poole Business Improvement District (BID), brings together Dorset Police, Community Safety Accreditation Scheme (CSAS) Officers and SIA-trained security staff, who work side by side to ensure the town is safe, clean and welcoming.
Their clear uniforms and visible presence provide reassurance to residents, workers and visitors, helping to make the town centre feel safer and more approachable. While the Dolphin Centre Security team were unable to take part in the recent photograph, they remain an active and valued part of the partnership.
Poole BID has played a key role by investing in communication and coordination systems including two-way radios, the SentrySIS secure intelligence platform, and the UK Partners Against Crime Crime Hub. These tools link businesses directly with CCTV, police and other accredited partners, allowing faster sharing of information and response to incidents.
Regular meetings between Dorset Police, BCP Council’s Anti-Social Behaviour Team and Poole BID help maintain collaboration and ensure issues are dealt with quickly and effectively.
A spokesperson for Poole BID said the project demonstrates real partnership in action, with a structure where everyone is connected and response is immediate. The visible patrols, they added, show reassurance in action every day across Poole town centre.
