Motorcyclist dies after Poole road crash
A 24-year-old motorcyclist from Poole has died in hospital after a collision on Dorset Way, and police are appealing for witnesses.
The crash happened on the eastbound A3049 Dorset Way, just before the Old Wareham Road roundabout, and involved a red Jeep Avenger and a black and blue motorbike.
Emergency services were called shortly after 4.26pm on Wednesday 29 October, and the rider was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Despite the efforts of medical staff, the man died in hospital on the evening of Saturday 1 November, and his family has been informed by officers.
Police from the Roads Policing Team have begun a detailed investigation to understand how the collision occurred and are gathering accounts from everyone who was in the area.
Police Sergeant Dave Cotterill said, “Our thoughts are very much with the family and loved ones of the man who sadly died following this collision.”
Officers are particularly keen to hear from anyone who saw the vehicles before the collision or captured relevant footage on dashcams while travelling along Dorset Way.
