Bournemouth woman dies in A35 crash
A Bournemouth woman, aged thirty-seven, has died after a collision involving two BMWs on the A35 near Askerswell at 12.05am today (Wednesday).
Her next of kin has been informed and the coroner has been notified as enquiries continue into the circumstances of the crash.
A 28-year-old man from Plymouth was taken to hospital with life-changing injuries, while a 35-year-old man from Poole suffered minor injuries and was also taken to hospital.
The Poole man has been arrested on suspicion of a driving offence as officers work to establish what happened during the collision.
Police Sergeant Leanne Howes said: “Tragically, a woman has lost her life and our thoughts are with her loved ones.”
She added: “We are investigating the circumstances and would like to hear from witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage.”
The A35 was closed for several hours to allow emergency services to respond and for a detailed examination of the scene to take place.
