Police look into smashed windows
Two windows were smashed in Poole, prompting a police appeal for witnesses after residents on Simmons Close were woken by breaking glass in the early hours.
Dorset Police are looking into the incident, and said the damage happened at around 2am on Sunday 19 October 2025, when occupants of two properties reported the sound of smashing and later found panes broken.
Police Constable Alice Beavon said the incident was understandably alarming to wake up to, adding that nobody was injured and enquiries are under way to identify whoever was responsible.
She urged anyone who saw suspicious behaviour nearby to come forward, saying it was “very frightening to wake up to” and asking residents to “please come forward” with information.
Officers also want to hear from people who may have captured something useful on home cameras, including “home CCTV or dashcam footage”, around the time of the reported damage.
Anyone with information can contact Dorset Police online or by calling 101 and should quote occurrence number 55250154905 to help the investigation team.
Alternatively, people can share details anonymously with the independent charity Crimestoppers through its website or by calling the Freephone line on 0800 555 111.
Police are keeping an open mind as enquiries continue and are keen for anyone in the Simmons Close area to check recordings from the overnight period for anything unusual.
