Julia’s House leader inspires at lunch
Business leaders from across Dorset gathered at the Marsham Court Hotel in Bournemouth to hear from Julia’s House Chief Executive Martin Edwards at the Evolve Leaders Lunch.
Martin, who has led the children’s hospice charity for twenty years, shared an open and insightful look at his leadership journey. He spoke about the early challenges of transforming the charity’s culture, the importance of recruiting people who share the right values, and how his leadership philosophy has evolved over two decades.
During the discussion, Martin reflected on the growth of Julia’s House and highlighted his personal 20/20 Challenge – a series of twenty demanding physical activities throughout 2025, including a 110-kilometre walk, skydiving, and winter sea swims. The goal is to raise £100,000 for the hospice.
Event host and Evolve founder Warren Munson said it was a privilege to have Martin as the guest speaker, describing him as a leader whose compassion and dedication continue to inspire others in the business community.
The Evolve Leaders Lunch, supported by Azets and Ellis Jones Solicitors, brings together local business figures twice a year to share ideas, experiences and leadership insights.
