Jenny leads new community role at Lighthouse
Lighthouse Poole has appointed its first Community Connector, Jenny Fawcett-Gray, to help build stronger links with people across the community.
Jenny will spend the next six months meeting local groups and organisations to learn how Lighthouse can better serve their needs and create new opportunities for collaboration.
“It’s all about people and Lighthouse has a key role in responding to the needs of our local community,” said Jenny. “I’m looking forward to meeting residents and building on existing partnerships, such as the legacy of the community play SALT, which I was part of two years ago.”
The new role has been made possible thanks to a grant from the Talbot Village Trust. Lighthouse Community Engagement Manager, Martha Earley, said the position will help identify ways to reach those who may not yet feel connected to the venue.
“These are exciting times for Lighthouse,” she said. “Jenny’s work will help us understand what our wider community needs and provide evidence for future funding to expand our outreach.”
Lighthouse hosts thousands of performances, screenings and exhibitions every year, welcoming audiences from across Poole and beyond.
