Free health pop-up event opens in Boscombe

A six-day free health and support pop-up has opened on Boscombe High Street, offering local residents easy access to a wide range of wellbeing services.

Organised by staff and students from Health Sciences University, the pop-up at the Boscombe Arts Depot is running until Saturday 11 October and aims to support community health and wellbeing.

Visitors can drop in between 10am and 4pm for free services including NHS health checks, chiropractic triage, dietetics, physiotherapy, blood pressure and BMI checks, massage and exercise sessions, podiatry, speech and language therapy, and children and babies triage.

The event also features one-off activities such as a wellbeing session with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, designed to promote relaxation and mindfulness.

Health Sciences University is working in partnership with Community Action Network and Help and Care, who are providing extra advice and signposting to further support services.

Chiropractic Clinic Lead Daniel Heritage said the initiative was an important way to connect with the local community. “As Health Sciences University is based in the centre of Boscombe, it is important to support our local community and provide valuable learning opportunities for our students,” he said.

The pop-up is open daily until Saturday 11 October at 616-622 Christchurch Road, opposite Costa Coffee. A full timetable of sessions is available on the Health Sciences University website.
