Police investigate Southbourne bus stop incident
A teenage girl was sexually assaulted at a bus stop in Bournemouth and police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
The incident happened at around 8.20pm on Monday 29 September when a 17-year-old girl was waiting at the Fisherman’s Walk bus stop in Southbourne Grove. A man approached her and tried to start a conversation before grabbing her arm and attempting to touch her inappropriately over her clothing.
The girl told the man to leave her alone and got onto a bus shortly afterwards, leaving him behind at the stop.
The suspect is described as white, aged in his 30s, around five feet six inches tall and of slim build. He had short white hair, two grey hoop piercings in his right ear, and was wearing a red hooded top, dark blue top and dark blue jeans.
Police Constable Lucy Hobbs, of Bournemouth police, said the incident was “very distressing” for the victim and confirmed that a full investigation is under way. She urged anyone with information, CCTV or dashcam footage from the area to contact Dorset Police.
