Townsend Youth Partnership secures lottery funding

The Townsend Youth Partnership in Bournemouth has been awarded £19,880 from the National Lottery’s Community Fund to strengthen its work with young people.

The partnership provides safe and inclusive spaces where children and teenagers can access support, structure and positive role models. Its clubs run on the Townsend estate for those aged five to eighteen, or up to twenty five for young people with disabilities.

More than one hundred young people regularly attend the sessions each week, benefiting from consistent support, trusted adults and opportunities to build confidence and develop new skills.

Youth Development Coordinator Marie said the clubs help to reduce isolation and build purpose. She added: “Simply having somewhere safe to hang out with friends has made a meaningful difference in their lives.”

The group has also launched a Youth Forum, giving young people a say in how activities are run, while encouraging ownership and responsibility.

The funding boost will help the partnership continue to deliver positive activities and trusted support for young people in Bournemouth, while shaping stronger futures within the Townsend community.
