Ringwood’s McKenna Townsend wins major contract

Ringwood-based PR and communications agency McKenna Townsend has won a major contract to help drive Zambrero UK’s franchise development and support its nationwide expansion.

The agency will lead Zambrero’s UK franchise recruitment programme, which aims to grow the Mexican-inspired quick-service chain to 100 restaurants by 2030.

McKenna Townsend will also support the brand with national trade and consumer PR, as well as influencer activity to promote new restaurant openings.

Since launching in London in 2021, Zambrero UK has grown to 13 restaurants across London, Manchester, Birmingham, Reading and Essex. The company has recently signed its first three franchise partners, including one that will bring the brand to Scotland for the first time.

Oli Ingham, General Manager of Marketing at Zambrero UK, said the partnership will play a key role in meeting ambitious growth targets. He added that McKenna Townsend’s knowledge of both the franchise and food and beverage sectors would be “invaluable”.

McKenna Townsend’s Co-Founder and Managing Director, Sarah Townsend, said the agency is proud to be working with Zambrero UK on its expansion journey. She highlighted the brand’s combination of fresh food and strong charitable aims, describing it as “ambitious and achievable”.

The Ringwood agency works with a wide range of international and UK clients across sectors including marine, retail, care and food. Its roster includes well-known brands such as Subway, Gong cha, Yamaha, Princess Yachts and Coeliac UK.
