Dick Whittington panto cast reunites in Poole
Poole’s Lighthouse will once again be home to festive pantomime fun as the cast of last year’s Sleeping Beauty return for this year’s production of Dick Whittington.
The show, written and directed by CBeebies’ Chris Jarvis, brings together familiar faces alongside new talent for a story filled with magic, music and adventure. Chris will reprise his role as Dame Dolly Doughnuts, while Poole-born West End star Bernadette Bangura takes the stage as Fairy Bowbelles, fresh from her appearance in Moulin Rouge.
Sarah-Louise Young, remembered for her performance as Carabosse last year, will play the villainous King Rat. Bournemouth-based student Corben Heward-Mills steps up from ensemble to the role of Tommy the Cat. Isabella Kibble, who played Rose in Sleeping Beauty, returns as Alice Fitzwarren, and she spoke warmly about the opportunity, saying it was “a really special building” to perform in.
Joining them is young actor Kieran Morris in the title role, who described the story as “a great adventure with the magic overlaid on top.” Completing the cast is award-winning actor Robert Rees as Alderman Fitzwarren, Alice’s father.
With lavish sets, colourful costumes, comedy and spectacular musical numbers, audiences in Poole can look forward to a magical retelling of the classic tale this Christmas.
