A man has been taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries following a serious crash at the Mountbatten Roundabout on Ringwood Road in Poole.
The collision, which happened at 10.12am today, Monday 8 September 2025, involved a grey Toyota Yaris and a black Mini Cooper convertible.
Emergency services attended and road closures were put in place while the scene was made safe and initial enquiries were carried out.
The male driver of the Toyota Yaris was seriously hurt and his next of kin have been informed by officers supporting the family.
Police Sergeant David Cotterill, of the Roads Policing Team, said: “We are carrying out enquiries to establish the full circumstances and I would urge any witnesses or drivers with dashcam to contact us.”
Officers want to hear from anyone who saw how the vehicles were being driven in the moments before the crash, or who has dashcam footage showing Ringwood Road and the roundabout around the time of the incident.
Residents and businesses near the roundabout with external CCTV or doorbell cameras that cover the area are also asked to check recordings for anything relevant.
Anyone with information can contact Dorset Police via the force website, by emailing scit@dorset.pnn.police.uk, or by calling 101 and quoting occurrence number 55250133942.
Police thanked road users for their patience during the closures while collision investigators worked at the scene earlier today.
