Ringwood has welcomed a new independent chocolatier as Bartlett De Choc officially opened its doors with a launch event led by Mayor Councillor Rae Frederick.
The boutique, founded by husband-and-wife team Tracy and Nick Bartlett, was unveiled yesterday with guests including food experts, journalists and family members invited to experience the new shop.
The event featured a live chocolate making demonstration and a chance to sample handmade chocolates and patisserie created fresh in the store each day.
The interior of the shop has been designed and built by co-founder Nick, drawing on his background as a sculptor and mixed-media artist. He said the boutique represented years of artistry and shared vision, adding that the aim was to offer an experience that reflects their personal story.
Tracy Bartlett said opening the first boutique kitchen was the result of four years of preparation and described it as a moment where private creativity is now being shared with the community.
The opening marked the launch of Bartlett De Choc’s first collection – sixteen hand-crafted bon bons inspired by autumn flavours. Their menu also features chocolate bars, truffles, pistachios and six pastries baked fresh on site each day, including choux, fruit tarts and madeleines.
Future plans include workshops, patisserie courses and collaborations with local producers and Michelin-star chefs from 2026. A calendar of seasonal events is already available to book online.
Mayor Councillor Rae Frederick praised the new store, describing independent businesses as vital to Ringwood’s economy and community spirit, and said the creativity and dedication of Tracy and Nick would be warmly welcomed.
Bartlett De Choc is now open on Meeting House Lane in Ringwood, where Tracy and Nick will be running the boutique themselves.
