Changes coming to Morebus fares across BCP and east Dorset
Morebus has confirmed that changes to its fares will come into effect from Sunday 31 August this year.
The company said single fares are currently capped at three pounds under the Department for Transport scheme and this will continue until further notice. However, single fares that cost less than three pounds will increase.
For those who travel regularly, Morebus is encouraging passengers to buy period passes on the Morebus app, which it says offer the best value. For occasional passengers, the tap on tap off system remains in place, automatically working out the cheapest fare for the journey.
Some ticket offers will remain unchanged thanks to Bus Service Improvement Plan funding with support from BCP Council. These include the commuter club, one pound evening fares after seven, discounted child dayriders at weekends, and the adult two pound multi-trip bundles.
A spokesperson for Morebus said the app provides mobile tickets so customers no longer need cash, as well as journey planning tools to help organise trips. It also includes live bus tracking so passengers can see where their bus is, and travel alerts to keep them updated with any service changes.
The company added that these features are designed to make travelling across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole easier and more reliable.
