Companies from across Dorset will head to Bournemouth beach next month for a charity volleyball competition organised by MSP Capital.
The Poole-based property finance firm is staging its fourth annual beach volleyball championships in aid of Julia’s House and Lewis-Manning hospice charities.
Since launching in 2022, the event has raised more than £40,000, with organisers hoping to add another significant total this year.
The competition will see players from more than 20 Dorset-based businesses and organisations take to the sand on Thursday 4 September from 12.30pm, with matches taking place close to Bournemouth Pier.
Each six-a-side, mixed team will play 15-minute ‘pool’ matches across four courts, with the highest scoring teams progressing to the knockout stages, starting with the quarter finals.
Firms taking part represent a wide range of property-related services, including development, consultancy, surveying, estate agency, law, accountancy, marketing, IT, recruitment and office rental.
Leigh Bartlett, Chief Executive of MSP Capital, said: “As well as being a well-established summer highlight, our annual volleyball championships are a fantastic, fun way to bring people together. We look forward to welcoming teams from across the property industry for some friendly, spirited competition to raise funds for two brilliant local charities.”
The event is again being supported by Deep Dish, a beach volleyball specialist founded by Team GB players Chris Gregory and Jake Sheaf. The organisation is providing referees, a compere and a DJ to help run the day.
MSP Capital is also headline sponsor of the Bournemouth Grand Slam championships, which will be held at the same beach location from 5 to 7 September. The Grand Slam forms part of the UK Beach Tour, one of the sport’s main competition series.
