A man has died following a road traffic collision near Wareham, with police now appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage.
Dorset Police confirmed they were called at 10.41pm on Thursday 21 August 2025 to a single-vehicle collision on the A352 at East Stoke involving a blue SEAT Leon.
Emergency services attended, but a 44-year-old man from Weymouth was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin has been informed.
The road was closed between Wool and East Stoke to allow officers to respond and remains shut while specialist investigators examine the area.
Sergeant David Cotterill, from the Roads Policing Team, said officers’ thoughts were with the family and friends of the man who died. He explained that an investigation was underway and urged anyone with information to come forward. He also appealed to drivers who may have dashcam footage showing the vehicle’s movements before the collision, stressing it could provide vital details for the inquiry.
Sergeant Cotterill added that police were grateful to the public for their patience while the road closures remain in place.
