Bournemouth woman charged after fail-to-stop collision in Kinson

A woman has been charged following a fail-to-stop collision that left a pedestrian injured in Bournemouth earlier this year.

Dorset Police received a report at 3.28pm on Friday 14 February this year of a collision in Kinson Road near to the junction with Plassey Crescent. The incident involved a grey Renault Captur and a pedestrian.

Emergency services attended and the pedestrian, a woman in her sixties, was taken to hospital with injuries that were described as serious but not life-threatening. She has since been discharged from hospital.

It was reported that the Renault Captur involved failed to stop at the scene. Road closures were put in place while officers and paramedics dealt with the incident.

Officers carried out immediate enquiries and located the vehicle in the West Howe area. A woman in her thirties was arrested in connection with the incident.

Following a detailed investigation, she has now been charged with several offences. These include causing serious injury by dangerous driving, failing to stop after a road accident, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence, and using a motor vehicle without third party insurance.

She is due to appear at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Friday 12 September this year.
