Vue has announced that its new cinema at Tower Park in Poole will open tomorrow, two days earlier than originally planned.
The first preview screenings will be held on Wednesday, showing films including Freakier Friday, Weapons, The Bad Guys 2 and The Fantastic Four: First Steps. The official opening had been scheduled for Friday 15 August.
The venue is fitted with Vue’s reclining Lux seats and the new Ultra Lux seating. Ultra Lux seats are wider and have back and leg rests that recline independently, along with a wine cooler.
All screens at Vue Poole will use Laser by Barco projection, which is intended to enhance contrast, brightness and colour.
The cinema will be only the second in the country to feature Vue Your Way, a retail concept that allows customers to scan their ticket, choose food and drink items from a self-service area, and then pay at a self-checkout.
To mark the opening, a beach party-themed event will be held on Thursday 21 August. It will include prize giveaways, free samples and exclusive £1 screenings. Films scheduled for that day include Madagascar, Bluey: Let’s Play Chef, CBeebies Musical: The Great Ice Cream Hunt and The Dark Knight.
Narinder Shergill, General Manager of Vue UK and Ireland, said the earlier opening would allow customers to enjoy the venue ahead of schedule, adding that the combination of Lux and Ultra Lux seating and the Vue Your Way system would provide a new level of comfort and convenience.
