Bournemouth protests prompt police conditions and Meyrick Road closure
Protests in Bournemouth tomorrow will see a section of Meyrick Road closed outside the Roundhouse roundabout.
Dorset Police has imposed conditions under the Public Order Act requiring participants to demonstrate in specific locations and to disperse by 5pm.
Those aligned with Bournemouth Patriots and Taking Back our Country will be in the blue zone, while protesters with Stand Up to Racism, the Palestine Solidarity Movement and Antifa will be in the red zone.
Officers from across Dorset are working additional shifts to address anti-social behaviour, public place violence and ensure prompt responses to incidents.
The warm weather is expected to bring more visitors to the town, and police say they are working closely with BCP Council and emergency services to minimise disruption, maintain emergency access and balance freedom of expression with crime prevention.
