New business support programmes launched to help Dorset firms grow

Three new fully-funded support programmes are now available to help Dorset businesses grow, innovate and prepare for investment.

The programmes are being delivered by Evolve and funded by Business Growth Dorset. They are open to small and medium-sized businesses based in both the Dorset Council and BCP Council areas. The aim is to provide practical, tailored support for businesses at various stages of their development.

The three new programmes are:

Evolve Growth Forum – A peer-led forum for business owners and senior leaders who want to step back from the day-to-day and explore new ideas. Hosted in partnership with Dan Griffiths of Interpin, the forum includes three separate sessions on growth strategies, AI & automation and contemporary leadership.

Funding Fit – A four-week online programme for early-stage start-ups preparing to raise equity investment for the first time. Delivered by Hatty Fawcett of Focused for Business, it helps founders build confidence, understand investor expectations and develop a credible investment case.

Funding for Scale – A three-part workshop series for established businesses generating £500k+ in revenue and planning their next phase of growth. Led by Evolve’s Amelia Atkins, the programme supports businesses in exploring funding options, refining their growth strategy, and preparing investor documents.

David Mutton from Evolve said the programmes are designed to give local firms the tools and confidence to move forward. He said the peer support element will help encourage fresh thinking and practical solutions.

In addition to the three programmes, a series of free online and in-person events will run from September. Topics will include artificial intelligence, business innovation, cybersecurity, digital marketing, and pitching for investment.
