Live music weekends coming to Poole Quay with Summer Sounds

Live music will fill Poole Quay every weekend from Saturday 26 July, as a new event called Summer Sounds launches to bring a fresh atmosphere to the harbourside.

The free event will take place every Saturday and Sunday from midday to 6pm until the end of August, with live performances from local musicians at different points along the Quay.

The idea was developed by Anna Doyle, former landlady of The Lord Nelson, and Michelle Smith, landlady of The Poole Arms, with support from Poole BID.

The aim is to create a relaxed and welcoming vibe to support local businesses and offer residents and visitors a reason to enjoy the Quay throughout the summer.

Michelle Smith said the response from the community had been overwhelmingly positive, with many local businesses taking part and performers keen to get involved.

Poole BID CEO Jacqui Rock said the event highlights the benefits of community-led activity and is expected to increase footfall across the area.

The organisers say updates will be posted on social media by Poole Quay Events.
