Walk for Wards event returns raising money for hospital wards

People across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole are being invited to take part in this year’s Walk for Wards to support University Hospitals Dorset.

The fundraising event takes place on Saturday 13 September at Upton House and offers three walk options – 3km, 5km and 8km – with money raised going towards a ward of each participant’s choice. That could be in memory of a loved one, to say thank you for treatment, or to support NHS staff.

Funds raised will help improve patient care at Poole, Bournemouth and Christchurch hospitals, including projects and equipment not covered by core NHS funding.

After the walk, participants are invited to stay for live music, entertainment and a complimentary burger.

University Hospitals Dorset NHS Charity said the walk is a way for the community to come together in support of the hospitals that serve them.

Care South is supporting the event again this year and will have care home staff, residents and families taking part on the day.

Registration is now open via the charity’s website.
