Two BBC radio programmes set for live shows in Poole this autumn

Two long-running BBC radio shows are coming to Lighthouse in Poole this autumn as part of a packed live programme.

Friday Night Is Music Night will broadcast live from the venue on Friday 19 September, followed by a live tour performance of Dead Ringers on Friday 3 October.

The first show, featuring the BBC Concert Orchestra, will be led by conductor Michael England and themed Puttin’ on the Ritz. Audiences can expect music from the 1920s and 30s, with four guest West End vocalists joining for an evening of romance and rhythm.

The show is the world’s longest running live orchestral programme and now airs on BBC Radio 3.

Meanwhile, Dead Ringers marks its 25th anniversary with a live touring version. Original cast members Jon Culshaw and Jan Ravens will be joined by Lewis MacLeod and Duncan Wisbey for a night of impressions and topical satire.

The performance celebrates a quarter century of sketches and characters known to millions.

Katy Griffiths, Head of Programming at Lighthouse, said both events would appeal to loyal fans and bring something unique to Poole’s live entertainment calendar.

More details and booking information are available via the Lighthouse Poole website.
