Lighthouse Poole has confirmed its in-house Christmas pantomime will be Dick Whittington, continuing its tradition of festive family productions.
The show will be written and directed by Chris Jarvis, who also stars as Dame Dolly Doughnuts. He returns following last year’s Sleeping Beauty and previous productions of Aladdin and Cinderella, both of which received industry recognition.
This year’s story brings the classic tale of rags to riches to the stage, promising fun, magic and family entertainment throughout the festive season.
Returning to the cast is Sarah-Louise Young, who played Carabosse last year. She will now take on the villainous role of King Rat. Corben Heward-Mills, a Bournemouth-based student who appeared in Sleeping Beauty, is also back, this time as Tommy the Cat.
Poole-born West End performer Bernadette Bangura will play Fairy Bowbelles. Currently starring in Moulin Rouge, she last appeared at Lighthouse in Hairspray as Motormouth Maybelle.
Bernadette said she was excited to be back in Poole, having spent many of her teenage years in the town and performing at Lighthouse in youth productions. She added that family and friends are looking forward to seeing her perform locally again.
Dick Whittington opens at Lighthouse Poole this Christmas.
