Teenage cyclist suffers life-threatening injuries in Poole crash

A teenage boy has been seriously injured in a crash involving a car and an e-bike in Poole.

The incident happened just after 10pm on Wednesday 18 June on Longfleet Road, near the Shah of Persia pub. It involved a silver Volkswagen Golf and an electric bicycle.

Emergency services were called to the scene and the cyclist was taken to hospital with injuries believed to be life-threatening.

Dorset Police have launched an investigation and are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.

Police Sergeant Mike Burt from the Serious Injury Collision Investigation Team said they are looking into the full circumstances surrounding the collision. Officers are particularly interested in how the car and e-bike were being used before the crash.

Longfleet Road was closed for a time on Wednesday night while emergency services responded.
