AFC Bournemouth have completed the signing of French left-back Adrien Truffert from Ligue 1 side Rennes.
The 23-year-old defender has agreed a five-year contract and will join up with the Cherries ahead of pre-season training for the 2025/26 season.
Born in Belgium, Truffert has spent the majority of his professional career in France, progressing through the ranks at Rennes. He made his first-team debut in 2020 and was appointed club captain last year. In May, he made his 150th Ligue 1 appearance during a match against Marseille.
During his youth career, Truffert won both the French Under-17 and Under-19 championships with Rennes. He also has international experience at every level from France Under-18s to the senior squad. Last year, he represented his country at the Summer Olympics and earned a silver medal.
Speaking after the move, President of Football Operations Tiago Pinto said the club was pleased to complete the signing early in the transfer window and praised Truffert’s experience and quality.
Truffert described joining Bournemouth as a proud moment and said he was excited by the opportunity to develop further and play in the Premier League.
The full-back becomes the latest addition to manager Andoni Iraola’s squad following the club’s most successful top-flight campaign to date.
