Residents will have the chance to put questions directly to Councillor Millie Earl, Leader of Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council, during a live online Question and Answer session this month.
The live session takes place at 12.15pm on Tuesday 17 June and will be streamed on BCP Council’s social media channels, including YouTube.
Two topics will be discussed: summer readiness and the Community Governance Review.
The first half of the event will focus on how the council is preparing for the summer season. Councillor Earl will be joined by Councillor Richard Herrett, Cabinet Member for Destination, Leisure and Commercial Operations. Together they will discuss plans to keep the seafront safe and enjoyable as the area welcomes an estimated 13 million visitors each year.
Councillor Earl said: “Our beaches and outdoor spaces are a top choice for visitors and residents alike. We are working with our partners to encourage people to respect, protect, and enjoy what the area has to offer.”
The second part of the session, starting at approximately 12.45pm, will turn to the Community Governance Review. This includes proposals to introduce new town, parish and community councils in parts of Bournemouth and Poole, as well as minor changes in Christchurch.
Councillor Earl will be joined by BCP Council’s Head of Democratic Services, Richard Jones, to help respond to questions. She said: “I am very passionate about grass roots democracy and giving communities a greater say in the decisions that affect their area.”
Residents can submit questions in advance or post them live during the session. A recording will be available online afterwards for anyone unable to watch it live.
