A new community flower garden has officially opened at the Lake Road Surgery in Verwood, offering patients, staff and visitors a peaceful space to pause and reflect.
The garden was created in memory of the surgery’s late pharmacist and has been made possible by the efforts of local residents, businesses and volunteers who donated time, materials and support to bring the idea to life.
Jo Morris, Managing Partner at The Cranborne Practice, said: “This garden is a testament to what we can achieve when we come together as a community. We are incredibly grateful for everyone who contributed—whether through digging, planting, donating goods, or simply offering their encouragement.”
Designed with inclusivity in mind, the space features native plants to encourage biodiversity, accessible benches and quiet corners for rest and reflection.
Contributors and members of the patient participation group gathered for a small launch ceremony to mark the garden’s official opening and thank those involved.
The garden is intended as a calm and welcoming space for anyone attending the surgery or passing by.
