During the event, Poole BID Communications & Operations Manager Wendy King was set to present the award, only to be left speechless as she read the winner’s name — Poole BID itself.
“We had no idea we were even being considered,” said Wendy. “We are not able to nominate ourselves, so to find out we’d been recognised by our peers and the community in this way was deeply moving. It’s a true testament to the hard work and passion of our entire team.”
Nigel Reeve, founder of Marketing West and organiser of the Poole Business Awards, commented: “Marketing West runs business awards in towns across Dorset, and this is only the second time we’ve ever seen a sponsor announced as the winner of their own category. It’s a rare moment—but absolutely deserved. Poole BID’s contribution to the high street has been exceptional.”
