Longfleet Road reopens following welfare incident near Poole Hospital

Longfleet Road in Poole has reopened following a welfare incident involving a woman on the roof near the hospital car park.

The road was closed in both directions from around 10.30am today as emergency services responded to the situation. Dorset Police confirmed that officers were working with other agencies to engage with a woman who had climbed onto a roof.

At around 12.55pm, the woman was brought to safety and road closures were lifted shortly afterwards. The incident caused some local disruption, particularly around Poole Hospital, while emergency vehicles attended the scene.

The fire and ambulance services were also involved in the response, assisting police with the operation.

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said the priority was the woman’s welfare and that she was safely brought down after discussions with trained officers.

All roads have now reopened and the incident has concluded. No injuries have been reported.
