Major UK Barbershop music convention returns to Bournemouth this weekend

Bournemouth International Centre will welcome hundreds of singers for Sing2025, one of the UK’s largest vocal harmony events this weekend.

Running from Friday 23 to Sunday 25 May, the event will feature performances from top barbershop choirs and a cappella groups, including internationally recognised acts Vocal Spectrum and Ambassadors of Harmony.

Sing2025 is organised by the British Association of Barbershop Singers, one of the world’s largest barbershop organisations outside North America.

The weekend will include concerts, competitions, and workshops, as well as pop-up events across the town centre.

A high-profile Sunday matinee will be led by the headline acts, while Saturday night’s “Jukebox Saturday Night” show will highlight leading UK groups and guest performers.

Steve Turner from BH Live, which manages the BIC, said the event is expected to attract significant footfall to the town. “Sing2025 is a celebration of vocal artistry that brings top international talent to Bournemouth and showcases our town as a cultural destination.”

He added that the event would also support local businesses including hotels, shops and restaurants.

Founded in 1974, BABS is a registered charity with more than 1,700 members across the UK and over 60 choruses and 100 quartets.

Sing2025 marks the organisation’s return to Bournemouth and is expected to be one of the highlights of the British barbershop calendar.
