E-scooter rider taken to hospital following collision with a car

The rider of an e-scooter was taken to hospital following collision with a car this morning.

The incident happened near the Cooper Dean Roundabout in Bournemouth around 6.30am.

The northbound entry slip road was closed for around two hours causing long delays on Castle Lane West and surrounding roads.

Dorset Police said: “We received a report at 6.30am of a collision on the slip road from the A338 at the Cooper Dean Roundabout in Bournemouth involving a car and an e-scooter.

“Emergency services have attended and the e-scooter rider is being taken to hospital. We do not have a condition update at this time.”

There was another incident nearby on Wessex Way around the Springbourne Roundabout, blocking one lane and causing delays back to St Pauls Roundabout.
