Another attempt is being made to build up to 55 homes on a 5.5 hectare site off Birchdale Road at Colehill.
Dorset Council refused an outline, or in principle, application for the site in June last year after receiving dozens of objections.
The site is viewed by many as the last undeveloped green space between Colehill and Wimborne, claiming it should be protected from development.
Dorset Council decided last year that housing on the Green Belt site, used for grazing, would be inappropriate given several areas of Special Scientific Interest in the area, including heathland.
The council also said that the application had failed to properly address biodiversity mitigation should the scheme be allowed and had a lack of suitable information on how the development would deal with any archaeology or its impact on listed buildings in the area.
Several residents have already commented on the proposal.
Some highlight the potential for at least another 50 cars having to drive through the existing housing estate, where there has been accidents in the past.
Said one resident: “Wimborne has had five major developments built in the last five years without any improvement in infrastructure or GP facilities” also claiming that to build on the site would cut off an important “wildlife corridor” noting that deer regularly use the field , as do badgers and foxes.
