Police block road following possible firearm incident in Bournemouth

A Police cordon was put in place on St Swithun’s Road in Bournemouth this afternoon (Tuesday) following an incident.

The road was blocked in full between Knyveton Road and Southcote Road, from around midday.

Dorset Police said it received a report of an altercation involving two men in St Swithun’s Road in Bournemouth, near to the junction with Frances Road.

It was reported that one of the men was in possession of a possible firearm.

It was further reported that both individuals involved had left the scene.

There are no reports of any injuries at this time and officers are carrying out extensive searches and enquiries in the vicinity to locate those involved and establish the circumstances of the incident.

Dorset Police adds: “A cordon has been put in place as these enquiries are carried out and we would like to thank members of the public for their patience and understanding as we respond to this matter.”
