BCP Council seeks views on plans to improve Bournemouth bus travel

BCP Council is asking for public feedback on proposed changes to bus services between Bournemouth Travel Interchange and the town centre, with a consultation open until 12 May 2025.

The proposed Bus Service Improvement Plan was shaped by engagement work completed last year, where 72 percent of respondents supported its four key aims.

These aims are to cut bus journey times by introducing two-way movements on Old Christchurch Road and to improve passenger areas with Real Time Information displays and CCTV.

The plan also seeks to ease congestion for all road users and make it easier to get to Bournemouth town centre and Lansdowne.

If approved, the proposals would lead to changes in Holdenhurst Road, Old Christchurch Road, Hinton Road, Gervis Place and Westover Road.

Anyone who lives, works or travels in the area is encouraged to give their views online, by email, by post, or in person.

Printed plans are available to view at Bournemouth Travel Interchange Information Office during opening hours and can also be accessed on the BCP Council consultation website.

All comments received will help inform decisions on the next stage of the project.
