Green light for Sainsbury’s to place more than 1,000 solar panels on the roof of its Ferndown superstore
Sainsbury’s has been given the go-ahead to add solar panels to the roof of its Ferndown superstore.
The supermarket says it will achieve a 92 tonne annual reduction in carbon emissions.
More than a thousand panels are proposed across almost all of the roof area which the business says will generate up to 434kw of power.
A statement with a prior approval planning request to Dorset Council says the panels will be mostly hidden from the ground.
Dorset Council has agreed the prior approval application for the work.
