Drivers heading for the seaside this Easter advised to check local rules and park responsibly

Drivers are being advised to park responsibly this Easter.

BCP Council issued just over 1,400 parking fines to drivers in its coastal car parks last April.

New figures obtained through a Freedom of Information request by cinch, the UK’s biggest online used car retailer, show that the fines brought in £30,430.

Branksome Chine car park saw the highest number of parking fines, with 227 in total, followed by Bath Road South (222) and Sandbanks (221).

Sam Sheehan, Motoring Editor at cinch, said: “If you’re thinking about a trip to the seaside this Easter, remember that it can be easy to get caught out by unfamiliar restrictions in nearby car parks.

“To avoid the risk of unnecessary fines, it’s key for drivers to check local rules before they travel and park responsibly.”
