BH Live to spend more than £350,000 on revamping Littledown leisure centre’s gym changing facilities

BH Live is to spend more than £350,000 on revamping the gym changing facilities at the Littledown leisure centre.

The work includes new lockers, showers, vanity mirrors, toilets, flooring, energy-efficient lighting, and much more.

It’s expected to take up to ten weeks to complete with the female, male and accessible gym changing rooms temporarily closing from Saturday 29th March.

Customers can use the swimming changing rooms or arrive at the centre ready to train and shower at home.

Alternative gym and changing facilities are also available at Stokewood, Pelhams, Sir David English Sports Centre, BH Live Active, Corfe Mullen and BH Live Active, Queen’s Park.

All activities, including swimming, swimming lessons, swimming pool changing rooms, the gym, and group exercises classes are operating as usual.

Littledown is managed by BH Live in partnership with BCP Council.

Rob Cunningham, BH Live’s Director of Leisure and Business Development, said; “Littledown is Bournemouth’s flagship leisure centre.

“It is a thriving community hub open seven days a week, welcoming hundreds of thousands of visitors every year and popular with local people, schools, clubs, and community groups.

“Following customer feedback, we are delighted to announce this much-needed investment which will modernise and totally transform the centre’s male, female and accessible gym changing rooms.

“We think this will be very welcome news indeed and we can’t wait to get started.”

The works are to be carried out by Seascape South, BCP Council’s wholly owned construction company.
