
AFC Bournemouth Women were crowned FA Women’s National League Division One South West champions after a 2-0 win over Bristol Rovers at the Vitality Stadium on Sunday.
Goals from Jenna Markham and Katie James secured the victory in front of a record crowd of 7,076.
The Cherries extended their 18-match unbeaten run, clinching the title with four games to spare. This triumph erased the memory of last season’s disappointment, when they were narrowly pipped to promotion by Exeter City.
