AFC Bournemouth crowned FA Women’s National League Division One south west Champions

AFC Bournemouth Women were crowned FA Women’s National League Division One South West champions after a 2-0 win over Bristol Rovers at the Vitality Stadium on Sunday.

Goals from Jenna Markham and Katie James secured the victory in front of a record crowd of 7,076.

The Cherries extended their 18-match unbeaten run, clinching the title with four games to spare. This triumph erased the memory of last season’s disappointment, when they were narrowly pipped to promotion by Exeter City.

Manager Steve Cuss praised his team’s dedication: “This is a fantastic achievement. The players have been exceptional all season, and to win the title so early is a great reward for their hard work.”

The win marks a historic moment for the club, with promotion to the FA Women’s Championship now in sight. Fans celebrated the victory, making it a day to remember for Bournemouth.
